Another best seller from the ancient Italian house Borsalino is the Traveller , a rollable and pocket-sized hat, initially with a rounded crown, similar to that of a bowler hat, which can be shaped into various shapes with just a few touches of the hands, such as a Fedora, a Homburg (or lobbia) or a Pork pie (translated: pork pie which resembles a pie because it is circular).

What is the difference between a Trilby and a Fedora?

At first glance, you may be confused, as the Fedora and the Trilby appear similar, but the difference between the Trilby and the Fedora is mainly due to the different proportions.

The Fedora hat has a wider brim width, while the Trilby hat has a smaller brim. Both hats have the same shaped crown, and the two lateral dimples, the central split but obviously different proportions with respect to the height of the crown, which obviously adapts to the width of the brim.

How to choose the hat that suits you best?

To choose the most suitable hat for your body shape and physique, you must first observe the width of the hat brim: the wider it is, the more it requires physiques with broad shoulders and an appropriate height.

For example, a 7-8 cm wide wing is more suitable for a taller body and the dome and wing should be proportionate to the width of the shoulders and the height of the person. If you are shorter, choose a shorter wing that can also be medium width if the shoulders are sufficiently broad and the body is robust.
